"Great Plateau Grasslands" is the 3rd and final single off of the upcoming album, Journey Across Worlds: Action + Adventure!
For this track, I wanted to capture the beauty of the countryside and pastoral scenery; an environment often found in adventure games. Compositionally, this track was heavily influenced by impressionist composers like Claude Debussy, as well as the music from games like Pikmin.
There are 3 variations of this orchestral piece, the first being the combat variation, then the tension (enemy nearby) variation, and finally the ambient/exploration version. Having different variations of the same piece allows for seamless transitions between different game states--a common characteristic of open-world adventure games!
